Home On The Issues Respecting Those With Questions

On September 11th 2001, The United States of America watched in horror as our country came under attack, thousands of lives were lost, and America was changed forever.

More than a year later, an investigation was launched, and the 9/11 Commission Report was published. People still have questions, and those questions deserve answers. But currently, people are getting those answers from organizations like Popular Mechanics and Alex Jones. Please take a moment to measure the weight of that statement. This was the most significant event in modern history, and the people answering the questions about it are Popular Mechanics and Alex Jones. The United States Federal Government owes it to the American People to answer those questions in an open and honest fashion, we should not have to find our answers with those entities.

An organization called NYC CAN gathered more than 80,000 signatures from NYC residents, first responders, survivors of the attacks, and families of the fallen, demanding a referendum be put on the ballot in the NYC elections of November 2009, where voters would have the choice of voting for or against a new investigation of 9/11. Their efforts were met with dismissal in court. These people do not live in the First District, they cannot vote for me, and I am not pandering to them. I just think it is the right thing to do.

Do not dismiss me as a conspiracy theorist, I am not saying "9/11 was an inside job", I am not saying the Bush Administration was complicit in the attacks, I am not saying this is a conspiracy by the New World Order to enslave us under a one world government. I'm not pretending to have the answers here, all I am saying is, we made a promise, never to forget.

Even as so many of us rightly say that Barack Obama and those on the left are telling us lies about proposed health care legislation, even as so many of us consider man made global climate change to be a hoax, so many of us trust completely in the words of George W. Bush and the 9/11 Commission Report. Even though we have all heard the saying "Truth is always the first casualty of war". Even though people involved in the 9/11 Commission are today expressing concerns and questions not settled by that report.

It is our highest duty as Americans to question authority, distrust all government, ask questions, and demand answers. To suggest that people who have done research and found questions that remain unanswered to their satisfaction are crazy conspiracy theorists, and dismiss them, is to betray that duty. So, if elected, I will propose legislation to re-open the investigation into the events of 9/11, in an unprecedentedly open and independent manner.

It is the right thing to do, and I ask for your support.
